Mind Strength – A Loss Doesn’t Have to Be a Failure
Oct 19, 2026
“Failure” is a matter of perspective.
Yes, there is winning and losing. The clock runs out, and sometimes you find yourself on the losing end. But a loss doesn’t have to become a failure.
You get to choose what that experience means and what you do with it, even when the outcome wasn’t what you wanted.
“In so many ways, the worst experiences I’ve had in my life have been my best experiences, because I learned the most—and learning turns everything into a positive.”
-Tom Brady, The TB12 Method
Live long enough, and you will experience losses. You won’t win every time.
Even Tom Brady finished his NFL career with 95 losses as a starting quarterback.
Based on his quote, I’m sure he doesn’t look at those 95 losses as failures. He sees them as opportunities to learn, adjust, and grow. I believe that willingness to learn from difficult experiences is one of the things that helped make him the greatest of all time.
You won’t be perfect. You won’t win them all. But you can choose to see those losses as opportunities to learn and grow instead of failures.
